09/29/09 at 01:17 AM Reply with quote #2 Hi Laurie, Thank you for the question.  If a person is invited to a shower for the wedding, it is a common courtesy to also invite them to the wedding as well. Because of this, anyone you invite to this shower you mentioned will mostly likely expect an invite to the wedding, and will therefore probably be offended when that does not happen. My advice?  Simply don't extend invitations to anyone for the shower who will not be able to attend the actual wedding. It is understandable that not everyone the couple knows, or is even related to will not be invited to the wedding.  Weddings are very expensive, and the guest count is typically the biggest expense due to catering costs.
