Traditionally the groom's mother (,and father if applicable) pay for and plan the rehearsal dinner. This can be as simple as a backyard BBQ, or something at a restaurant, or even an event venue. It's important that you do whatever is within your budget. The bride, and groom really should not force their will in anyway regarding the rehearsal dinner plans, as the decision making rights fall on the one writing the checks, or swiping the cards  . If your son is able to help financially, it would be acceptable for him to fund this even as well.
As for who should buy the bouquets for the bridesmaids, and maid of honor, that responsibility falls on the bride, and her family.
The groom, however traditionally is supposed to pay for the bride's bouquet, and the corsages for the mothers, and grandmothers.
